Meet Our Team: Kayla
Hi, my name is Kayla and I am a part of the People Outdoors team at the Australian Camps Association. I work as the Camp Administration Officer and help out the team in any capacity they may need.
I am an American, who has moved to Australia recently. I attended yearly Summer Camps as a child and all the way through my adolescence. I then worked my first job at an American YMCA Camp and later my first international job at a Camp in Croatia. I’ve been working interchangeably as a dance instructor and English teacher internationally for the past 10 years, living in Thailand, Vietnam (another camp!), and most recently, Japan. Whilst working at Camps I led archery, high ropes, horseback riding/critter care, and the arts (dancing, singing, acting). Outside of my profession in ballroom dancing, my hobbies include singing, painting, pottery, and reading at cafes.
I’m grateful to be a part of the People Outdoors Team returning to my camp roots and helping to enrich kids’ and adults’ lives. Nothing beats making friends, breathing in nature, and trying new things.
